Lent – Virtue

Day02_Virtue

How does one take a photograph of “virtue?”

In recent years, the Boy Scouts of America has allowed itself to be given a bit of a black eye on a couple of different fronts.   The reason, however, that this is so scandalous is that at its heart, the scouting program actually strives to be virtuous.  There is nothing more that the media loves to cover than when an inherently good person (or organization) trips and falls.  “Look they’re no better than the rest of us… in fact, they’re worse, because they try to be all goody-two-shoes.”

Over the years, people have asked me why I continue to support scouting with all of their problems.  This photo captures the answer to that question.   I would much rather hang out with a flawed group that sets its sites high, than with folks who don’t even see the point in trying.
