I have tried many times to capture the depth of eyes in a photograph. I have never truly achieved it though. (We have a framed photo of eyes that Paul took a number of years ago that is truly beautiful.) So when I saw the word today, I kinda cringed.
And then, I decided to try something new. I tried capturing a selfie of my own eyes. I took about 30 shots and was not truly happy with any of them. But I did find something captivating in this one (once I desaturated everything except my irises).
I suspect this photo will haunt me one way or another for some time to come.
